For many families, the desire to welcome a child into the world is one of the deepest hopes of their hearts. During Infertility Awareness Week, we take time to recognize the emotional, spiritual, and personal journey of couples who experience infertility and to surround them with compassion, prayer, and support.
At a pregnancy center, this week is a beautiful reminder that every child is a precious gift from God, and every family’s journey toward parenthood is unique. While our mission is often focused on supporting mothers facing unexpected pregnancies, we also walk with families who long for the blessing of a child and carry the pain of waiting.
A Time to Listen and Offer Compassion
Infertility can bring feelings of sadness, loneliness, grief, and uncertainty. This week invites us to be present for couples who are carrying this cross. Sometimes the greatest gift we can offer is simply to listen, pray, and remind them that their worth is not defined by their ability to conceive.
As a community, we can celebrate this week by:
- Praying for couples experiencing infertility and asking God to strengthen them with hope and peace.
- Offering words of encouragement and avoiding comments that may unintentionally cause pain.
- Supporting families through ministries and organizations that provide hope, healing, and resources.

Embracing the Call to Adoption
Infertility Awareness Week also invites us to reflect on the beautiful vocation of adoption. Adoption is a powerful expression of love—a decision to welcome a child, protect their dignity, and provide a family filled with care and belonging.
As a pro-life community, we are called not only to defend life but also to support families and children at every stage of life. Adoption reminds us that every child deserves to be loved, cherished, and welcomed.
For some families experiencing infertility, adoption may become a path to parenthood. For others, adoption may be a calling to open their hearts and homes to a child in need. Every adoption story is unique, but each one reflects the love and generosity of those who say “yes” to life.
How a Pregnancy Center Can Celebrate Infertility Awareness Week
Pregnancy centers can use this week as an opportunity to build a culture of compassion and hope by:

Invite staff, volunteers, and supporters to pray for couples longing for children, families considering adoption, and all children waiting for a loving home.

Highlight stories of adoption, families formed through unexpected blessings, and the many ways God works through difficult journeys.

Remind clients, volunteers, and community members that pregnancy centers are places of compassion for all families—those experiencing unexpected pregnancies and those longing for the gift of a child.
👶 Supporting Adoption Resources
Partner with adoption agencies and organizations to provide information about adoption as one loving response to the needs of children and families.
🌹 Offering a Mass or Prayer Intention
Remember couples experiencing infertility and pray for healing, strength, and trust in God’s plan.
A Community Called to Love
Infertility Awareness Week reminds us that every life has a purpose, every family has a story, and every person deserves love and support. Whether a family is welcoming a child through birth, adoption, or another journey, we are called to walk beside one another with compassion.
